Indoril Nerevar

From Monarchists.Wiki

Indoril Nerevar, also known by the epithet Moon-and-Star, is a fictional Chimer nationalist, traditionalist, and Hortator and Great Ashkhan of Resdayn developed by Bethesda Game Studios for the role-playing game The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind. Nerevar united the Chimer tribes and Great Houses of Resdayn (later known as Morrowind) and allied with King Dumac Dwarf-Orc, and together, they drove Nord invaders out of Resdayn.

His wife and consort was Almalexia. Dumac gave the enchanted swords Trueflame and Hopesfire to Nerevar and Almalexia, respectively, as wedding gifts.

Nerevar was a devout worshiper of Azura and the Daedra, and when Dagoth Ur told him about Kagrenac's plot to construct an artificial Dwemer god connected to the heart of Lorkhan, Nerevar made war on his old friend Dumac and the Dwemer. At the climax of the Battle of Red Mountain, Dumac was slain and the Dwemer vanished.

Nerevar himself was wounded during the battle, so he entrusted Dagoth with the safeguarding of the tools Kagrenac used to interact with Lorkhan's heart and left to seek advise on what to do from his councilors (the Tribunal: Vivec, Sotha Sil, and Almalexia). According to Nerevar's shield-companion Alandro Sul, the Tribunal betrayed and murdered Nerevar so that they may harness the power of Lorkhan's heart for themselves, while the Tribunal deny this.

Meanwhile, Dagoth Ur used the powers of the tools and the heart on himself and his kin, transforming himself into the Sharmat. After driving Dagoth off, the Tribunal used the tools and the heart on themselves and constructed the false Tribunal religion around themselves.

On account of the Tribunal's deeds, Azura cursed the Chimer, transforming them into the dark-skinned, red-eyed Dunmer and promised to have Nerevar reborn and make things right.

In Morrowind, the player assumes the role of the Nerevarine, the reborn Nerevar, and defeats Dagoth Ur, ending the Blight. In Morrowind's expansion Tribunal, the player once again assumes the role of the Nerevarine and defeats Almalexia's scheme to achieve greater power for herself. With the defeats of Dagoth Ur and Almalexia and Vivec's disappearance, traditional Chimer worship of Azura and the Good Daedra was restored, while the Tribunal were demoted from gods to saints.

You [Dumac] must give up your worship of the Heart of Lorkhan or I shall forget our friendship and the deeds that were accomplished in its name!

I will ask the Tribunal what we shall do with them, for they have had wisdom in the past that I had not. Stay here, loyal Dagoth-Ur, until I return.
