Jedi Code

From Monarchists.Wiki

The Jedi Code in a fictional mantra in the Star Wars fictional universe. The Code, as taught at the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, is as follows:

There is no emotion; there is peace.
There is no ignorance; there is knowledge.
There is no passion; there is serenity.
There is no chaos; there is harmony.
There is no death; there is the Force.

— Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

Commentaries from proponents and the like-minded[edit]

Kel'eth Ur

It's a lie. Fear is a lie. Passion, a lie.

Fear gives only temporary powers, and passion is easily manipulated. Real strength in the Force comes when one is no longer afraid.

And one can purge fear when one stops grasping – after power, after things, after life itself – and allows the Force to guide them. There is only the Force.

What I learned only lives on through this image and its device. Yet, I am one with the Force, eternal and at peace.

Take them – take my teachings to the Sith. They will find power there, but of a different kind – not of darkness, but light.

You told me I should rethink my path, and I did. You were right.

You are the one who suggested I rethink my path. And I have… and you were right.

It's been very hard to let go of all those thoughts… about power and strength and victory. I don't know if I'll ever be completely free of them.

The real irony is that, despite what the Sith Code says, I've never felt more free. I think I might… be able to find a little peace here. Finally.

There is no emotion; there is peace.
There is no ignorance; there is knowledge.
There is no passion; there is serenity.
There is no chaos; there is harmony.
There is no death; there is the Force.

Those words never held such resonance for me until I returned. I'd… like some serenity, some harmony. Wouldn't you?

Commentaries from dissidents[edit]

Kreia

I was a historian once, gathering the relics of the Jedi, learning the ancient mysteries. Always, there were more questions.

One quickly learns that the Jedi code does not give all the answers. If you are to truly understand, then you will need the contrast, not adherence to a single idea.

— Kreia, in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords
